Inviting chalet in the woods in Ovifat

Huis is basic maar wel proper. Huis staat beschreven als geschikt voor 8 personen, maar de voorzieningen laten dit niet toe. (Binnen een eettafel voor 6 personen, een heel kleine en zeer vuile bbq, frigo en diepvries koelden pas tegen de dag na aankomst en alsook veel te klein voor 8 personen. 1 buurman belt zelfs vrijdag overdag de politie voor “lawaaihinder”. Dit is zeer spijtig en geeft een negatieve sfeer aan een weekend weg met andere koppels / vrienden. Vanaf 20 uur geen lawaai meer gemaakt en alsnog kwam deze de ochtend erna om 06u30 met de auto voor het huis claxonneren totdat we buiten kwamen. (Buurman werkt met de nachtploeg en wilt overdag absolute stilte).

House is basic but clean. House is described as suitable for 8 people, but the facilities do not allow this. (Inside a dining table for 6 people, a very small and very dirty bbq, fridge and freezer only cooled by the day after arrival and also much too small for 8 people. 1 neighbor even calls the police on Friday during the day for "noise nuisance". This is very regrettable and gives a negative atmosphere to a weekend away with other couples / friends.From 20 o'clock no more noise made and yet the next morning at 06:30 the car came to honk the horn in front of the house until we came outside.(Neighbor works with the night shift and want absolute silence during the day).

Nice surroundings, spacious house

Het huisje was helemaal niet proper en er was ook genoeg schade. In de slaapkamer was het metalen plaatje van de deur waardoor deze niet dicht kon. Het nachtkastje was kapot, de douche-stang zat los in de muur en wanneer je deze wou verzetten had je die dus ook in je handen. Er was ook waterschade aan het plafond, hierdoor hadden we dus ook schimmel boven ons hoofd tijdens het douchen en zaten er verschillende gaten in de muur. In de slaapkamer met de stapelbedden is er van 1 bed het hout door gekrakt vanonder. Ook de helft van de lichten werkten toch niet. Eens in de keuken aangekomen heb ik al het bestek, borden, glazen en tassen die we zouden gebruiken in de vaatwas mogen steken. Er lagen dode insecten in de schuif, wortelen nog steeds aanwezig tussen de rasp en nog aangekoekt eten op de borden en in de tassen. Deze review zou ik niet schrijven als we degelijk contact konden hebben met de eigenaar. 3 weken na mijn oorspronkelijke mail nog tot op heden geen antwoord. Een week later een sms gestuurd en we gingen spoedig antwoord krijgen (niet gebeurd). Dan heb ik gebeld en ging ik voor het weekend iets weten. (niet gebeurd) Het enige wat ons beviel aan het huisje was het gezelschap en de locatie. Geen 485 euro waard.

Once I arrived in the kitchen, I was allowed to put all the cutlery, plates, glasses and bags that we would use in the dishwasher. There were dead insects in the drawer, carrots still present between the grater and food still caked on the plates and in the bags. I would not write this review if we could have proper contact with the owner. 3 weeks after my original email still no response. Sent a text a week later and we were going to get an answer soon (didn't happen). Then I called and went to know something before the weekend. (didn't happen) The only thing we liked about the cottage was the company and the location. Not worth 485 euros.

la maison est bien situee pour les activitites commes balades, promenades en velo, Elle es situee juste en face du parking pour le ski alpin d'Ovifat . La maison est jolie et pratique mais elle et son equipement sont assez vieille et pas suffisamment entretenue (matelas, lave vaiselle, jardin, peintures des cadres, salle de bain....). Il n'y avait pas de presence de quelqu'un a l'entree et a la sortie. Le proprietaire est gentil et a repondu a nos demandes d;intervention meme si avec un delai.

The house is pretty and practical but it and its equipment are quite old and not sufficiently maintained ( mattress, dishwasher, garden, picture frames, bathroom ....). There was no presence of anyone at the entrance and at the exit. The owner is kind and responded to our requests for intervention even if with a delay.

Heel goeie en vriendelijke ontvangst. Huisje is mooi verzorgd en is qua locatie ideaal gelegen in de natuur die Ovifat te bieden heeft.

Omgeving wonderschoon, accommodatie bedroevend, geen Belvilla waardig. We hebben eerder via Belvilla geboekt en vonden dit erg onder de maat. Bij aankomst moesten we direct op spinnen jacht. Zo'n 15 exemplaren met de bezem naar buiten gewerkt (stofzuiger was niet aanwezig). Verder durfden we de raamluiken buiten niet aan te raken, ze vielen er zowat af. De deurklink van de voordeur had je in de hand, bij het opendoen. Huiseigenaaresse spreekt enkel Frans, dus slecht communiceren.

Beneden was het slaapgedeelte. Dit was gedateerd, wat op zich geen probleem is. De garage is inpandig. In de garage stond een groot olievat voor de elektriciteit. Dit stonk heel erg en drong door in de slaapkamers als je de deur open liet. Het raam in de garage stond wel open maar het luik was dicht zodat de lucht binnen bleef hangen. Een paar dagen later bedacht ik me dat het misschien zou schelen als ik de luiken open zette. Dit scheelde aanzienlijk. Jammer dat dit niet voor aankomst gewoon even gedaan was. Dat komt veel gastvrijer over. Ook konden we niks vinden over de wificode. Uiteindelijk naar de buurman gelopen die ons ook binnen gelaten had. Hij wist het ook niet precies maar kwam op het idee om op de router te kijken. Het bleek idd de bovenste code te zijn (niet password). Ook badkamer is erg gedateerd. Douchen ging prima. Maar als je in bad geweest was kwam er water omhoog in het toilet en de garage. De tuin is prachtig maar was wel aan een onderhoudsbeurtje toe. We hadden mooi weer en hebben lekker ge-BBQt. Het woongedeelte is prachtig verbouwd. Hier konden we fijn toeven. als het wat kouder was kon je het ook snel warm krijgen. Keuken is goed uitgerust. Wat ik mistte in het huisje was een schaar en stofzuiger. Het lukt me niet om de blikopener te gebruiken (kan ook aan mij liggen ) ).

Downstairs was the sleeping area. This was dated, which in itself is not a problem. The garage is indoor. In the garage was a large oil drum for the electricity. It smelled really bad and penetrated into the bedroom if you left the door open. The window in the garage were open but the hatch was closed so that the air remained inside. Binnen drie kwartier rijden zijn er 2 adventure clubs. Daar kun je karten/steppen van de berg, schietprogramma met pijl-en-boog, luchtbuks en kruisboog. Ook kun je kayak varen. Binnen een half uur ben je in Monschau en daar is een super leuke bobslee baan. Er is ook dichtbij in Malmedy een leuk zwembad.

Within five minutes drive there are two adventure clubs. There you go karting / steppes of the mountain, shoot program with bow and arrow, air rifle and crossbow. You can also sail kayak. Within half an hour you are in Monschau, and there is a super fun bobsled track. There is also a nice pool near Malmedy.

We zijn zeer vriendelijk ontvangen, het huis was prima in orde (ruimtelijk, proper, voorzien van praktische spullen (bad/douche/waskranen, wasmachine, koffiezet, microgolfoven, servies, extra dekens, enzovoort..). Een zeer ruime veilig afgebakende tuin (handig met kleine kinderen), zeer rustige omgeving, veel wandel-mogelijkheden (*echter niet direct centrum-gelegen) .. Ideaal om de batterijen weer op te laden!

We are very kindly received, the house was fine (spacious, clean, equipped with practical stuff (bath / shower / waskranen, washing machine, coffee maker, microwave, dishes, extra blankets, etc ..). A very large safe garden demarcated (useful with small children), very quiet area, many hiking opportunities (* but not directly center-located) .. Ideal to recharge the batteries!

Cadre très agréable et calme. Le + : Lave linge, le - : Jardin non entretenu (c'est pas un désastre non plus). accueil proprio toujours aussi agréable.

Heerlijke ligging,tegenover de skipiste en midden in een prachtig wandelgebied. Het huis is heel prettig om in te verblijven.

Lovely location, opposite the ski slope and in the middle of a beautiful wandelgebied.Het house is very pleasant to stay.

Wij hadden een heel goed verblijf. Het is een goede huisje met ruime tuin in een prachtig omgeving. Toch voor een familie met kinderen was ons vervelend ,dat er in het huisje geen wasmachine/droogkast en geen diepvries aanwezig is. ook de koelkast werkt niet goed, en er enkel 1 toilet aanwezig is.

We had a very good stay. It's a great house with spacious garden in a beautiful omgeving.Toch for a family with children was annoying us, that there is in the house no washer / dryer and not frozen. Also, the refrigerator is not working properly, and there is only one toilet is present.

We huurden het huis voor de derde maal. Een huis met een fantastisch uitzicht en uivalsbasis voor prachtige wandelingen. Bedden en zetels doen het minder goed. Jammer dat er geen hout is voor de haard en indien je graag geniet van een glaasje wijn, breng dan best zelf de nodige glazen mee.

Wij zijn in de herfst van 2007 in huisje feng shui geweest. En we vragen ons af waarom deze naam? We hebben echter geen balance warmte en rust gevonden in de inrichting. Deze was oud en veelal kapot. Beneden waar je slaapt deed de verwarming het niet. De douchestang kwam van de muur. De vloerbedekking, vernamen wij, ligt er reeds 12 jaar en ook de rest is al deze jaren niet veranderd of vernieuwd. Vieze deurmatjes, wc en badmatje, tapijt, zeil, nee niet lekker fris. De bank viel uit elkaar en een tafeltje, en de grand fouilaars over de bank zijn tevens oud en viezig. Een beetje oude rommel allemaal. Wij misten de liefde die in een huisje kan worden gebracht. Want met een beetje creativiteit kan het een sfeervol verblijf zijn. De ligging is heerlijk en de openhaard ook. Er was wel hout maar weer geen zaag, jammer! Ook jammer dat de schoonmaakkosten en gas/elektra niet bij de prijs zijn inbegrepen. Liever dat de reissom dan hoger uitkomt maar dat alles erbij is inbegrepen.

Een hele mooie omgeving. Wij hebben er in iedergeval van genoten. Het huis is mooi ruim en staat geheel vrij. Qua inrichting is het iets verouderd maar was voor ons geen enkel bezwaar, we hebben het als gezellig ervaren.Tussen de 5 en 30 minuten van het huis af zijn er heel veel mooie locatie's wat zeker de moeite waard is om te ontdekken.Dit huis is een aanrader voor zowel de zomermaanden als de wintermaanden.

Prima verblijf gehad. Bij aankomst verrast over de locatie (prachtig vrij uitzicht) en de ruimte van het huis. Allemaal zeer positief. Inrichting wat gedateerd maar daar kwamen we niet voor al het nodige was aanwezig en de verwarming functioneerde meer dan goed en de openhaard was gezellig. De omgeving is helemaal top. Vanuit huis zijn er prachtige routes uitgezet voor zowel mountainbike als wandelen (en als er sneeuw ligt is de piste aan de overkant van de weg!). Bakker en slager in Robertville waren ook prima. Had a great stay. Upon arrival surprised at the location (beautiful unobstructed views) and the space of the house. All very positive. Decor a bit dated but we were not all necessary was present and the heating functioned more than good, and the fireplace was cozy. The area is completely top. From the house there are beautiful routes for both mountain biking and hiking (and if there is snow, the slopes on the other side of the road). ideale ligging en ruime woning met tal van mogelijkheden maar barslecht onderhouden (inboedel valt letterlijk uit mekaar van ouderdom en slijtage) en vooral mbt keuken niet geschikt voor 6 personen.

Die Villa Feng Shui ist ein einfaches, aber recht gemütliches Ferienhaus. Die Begriffe "Villa" und "Feng Shui" sollte mann dennoch nicht all zu wörtlich nehmen. Für einen Ferienaufenthalt zum Wandern oder Skifahren ist alles vorhanden was das Herz begehrt. Die Lage (im Sommer) ist sehr ruhig und eignet sich bestens zu Entspannen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der große Garten des Grundstücks.

The villa Feng Shui is a simple but very cozy cottage. The words "Villa" and "Feng Shui" should not take all too literally man nonetheless. For a holiday for hiking or skiing, everything is there what your heart desires. The location (in the summer) is very quiet and ideal to relax. Villa Feng Shui is een heel leuk, maar simpel huisje, gelegen bij de skipistes van Ovifat. Dichtbij heb je Robertville, Malmedy, Francorchamps... die voor het nodige amusement zorgen!! Wij hebben ons zeer geamuseerd tijdens ons weekend in Feng Shui, maar vinden toch dat het huis een opknapbeurtje wel zou kunnen gebruiken!! Maar anders is deze chalet zeer aan te raden!! In Ovifat zelf valt niks te beleven, maar eten en drinken kun je genoeg in bv. Malmedy!!

Villa Feng Shui is a very nice but simple cottage, situated on the slopes of Ovifat. Near you Robertsville, Malmedy, Francorchamps ... who provide the necessary entertainment! We have very amused during our weekend in Feng Shui, but find it a home redecorating be able to use! But otherwise, this chalet highly recommended! Fam. Boot Wij zijn een midweek (7-02 tm 11-02) in "Villa Feng Shui" geweest. Dit is echt een heel leuk vakantiehuis, met een gezellige knusse inrichting. De ligging is fantastisch, direct tegenover de ski-piste en de start van de langlaufloipen, jammer genoeg hadden wij de pech dat de sneeuw net weggesmolten was toen we aankwamen. In het dorpje Ovifat is helaas helemaal niets te beleven of te kopen, maar vanuit je huisje kun je wel mooie wandelingen maken en de dorpjes waar wel wat te halen is zijn niet ver weg. Kortom, een aanrader (vooral als er sneeuw ligt)

Fam. BootWij been a midweek (7-02 11-02 tm) "Villa Feng Shui". This is really a very nice house with a cozy snug inrichting.De location is fantastic, right opposite the ski slopes and the start of the cross country, unfortunately we had the bad luck that the snow had just melted away when we arrived. In the village of Ovifat is unfortunately nothing to do or buy, but from your house you have beautiful walks and villages where what is to pick up are not far weg.Kortom, highly recommended (especially if there is snow)

De eerste sneeuw op deze hoogte, de pistes gingen voor het eerst open... we hebben een heerlijke langlaufroute afgelegd. 2 x 8km, vermoeiend maar oh zo mooi in deze prachtige hoge Venen. De zaterdag een menu gegeten in Domaines des Hautes Fagnes. Uitstekende prijs-kwaliteit. Een aanrader en we komen zeker terug!!

The first snow at this height, the slopes were open ... for the first time we have had a wonderful cross-country route traveled. 2 x 8km, tiring but oh so pretty in this beautiful high Fens. The Saturday menu dinner at Domaines des Hautes Fagnes. Excellent value. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back!

Het huisje was prima! En gelukkig veel ruimer dan de foto's suggereren. Eerst vonden we het een beetje raar dat het beneden slapen en boven wonen was, maar we waren het er snel over eens dat je van boven een veel beter uitzicht had. Het huis staat tegenover de skipiste en omdat er nogal wat sneeuw was gevallen was deze open. De omgeving is geweldig; wandelen, langlaufen, skien en een fantastisch uitzicht. Vlak in de buurt is een eethuisje waar je lekkere streekgerechten kan eten. We hebben een heerlijke week gehad en zullen voor de komende kerstweek weer een huisje boeken.

The cottage was fine! And fortunately, much larger than the pictures' s suggest. At first we thought it was a little weird that it was sleeping downstairs and live upstairs, but we were soon agreed that you had a much better view from above. Right in front of the slopes, because a lot of snow had fallen it was open, the area is great,. hiking, cross country skiing and a fantastic uitzicht.Vlak is nearby taverns where you can eat delicious dishes we have had a wonderful week and will. book another house for the coming Christmas week.

Mooi huis en lekker ruim. Er was wat weinig brandhout voor de open haard. Als je van wandelen houdt, kun je vanaf huis het paadje naar rechts helemaal aflopen en je komt bij het bezoekerscentrum van de Hoge Venen. Vandaar kun je naar Baraque Michel. Probeer de Raclette in het restaurant van de camping op 200 meter. De langlauffloipen beginnen op 100 meter van het huis evenals de afdaling.

Prima huis, we hadden fantastisch weer en hebben heerlijk genoten van de natuur in de omgeving. Het huis ligt aan de rand van "De hoge Venen", een heel mooi wandelgebied. Het ligt ook aan de start van skigebieden, zowel langlauf als alpineskiën. In de buurt zijn de stadjes Malmedy en Eupen, zeker de moeite waard om te bezoeken. Verder zijn de watervallen van Coo te bezoeken waar allerlei aktiviteiten mogelijk zijn. Daar is het ook mooi om te wandelen in de bossen. Wij bedanken de beheerster van het huis. Zij heeft ons prima ontvangen toen we de sleutel gingen afhalen en ze heeft ons even begeleidt naar het vakantiehuis. Prima!

Great house, we had fantastic weather and have enjoyed the wonderful natural surroundings. The house is on the edge of "High Fens", a very nice walking area. It is also at the start of skiing, both cross-country and downhill skiing. Nearby are the towns of Malmedy and Eupen, definitely worth a visit. Furthermore, the Coo waterfalls to visit where all kinds of activities are possible. Since it is also nice to walk in the woods. We thank the caretaker of the house. They received us well when we went to pick up the key and she needs us as guides to the house. Fine!

Zeer mooi gelegen huisje, leuke omgeving. Veel te zien en prachtig om te wandelen. Ook in het huisje is alles naar wens, leuke haard alles wat je nodig heb is aanwezig. Beslist een plaats waar wij een keer terug zullen komen. groetjes Wim.
