We have a great holiday at Casa Max. We are a family with two children, 11 and 3 years old. The arrival was heart warming. The owners were already present and their daughter-in-law came a little later (we were early). For the children, ice cream came straight from the freezer and drinks from the fridge. Furthermore, a large bowl of cookies was waiting for us and in the fridge wine, beer and a bottle of water were already cold. The house is a beautiful authentic Tuscan house. The balcony is large (approx. 18 m2) with a breathtaking view. Furthermore, it is a spacious house and everything was clean. It has no holiday "vibe", but like you are visiting very good friends. This is partly due to the decor. The area is very beautiful. For us it was the first time in Italy, but certainly not the last time. Realize that when you book this house, you are always dependent on the car for groceries. The drive to the Conad (nearest supermarket) is approximately 12 minutes. We found the ideal that we were close to various sights, Lucca, Pisa, Viareggio and were able to look up the crowds. Once back, it was wonderful to enjoy the pool, the house and the wonderful peace. The owners come by every few days (3 to 5 days). You have absolutely no problems with this. They make the garden nice on side and clean the pool. We have also received several times fresh vegetables and fruit from their own grove. All in all a super holiday and a location that is highly recommendable.

The arrival at the house is very warm! Contact with the owners is mostly through the daughter-in-law who speaks good English. The house is really fantastic! Everything is there. Even in both bathrooms there is a hairdryer provided. This summer there is also air conditioning in the bedrooms. Obviously an added value. We went there with our 2 daughters aged 6 and 9 years. For us the house was very spacious. There was still time for a couple. Our daughters thought the pool was TOP of course! What appeals to us is the location. A half hour drive from Pisa, a good hour's drive from Firenze. Perfect for day trips, but all with the car. (What we are so ordinary) On the other hand, you can also laze pleasantly in the garden of the house itself. What I would like to give as a tip for future visitors. This is a region prone to tiger mosquitoes. There is a lot of anti-mosquito available in the house, but a means to lubricate yourself is not a luxury. It is mosquito-free in the house itself. All windows are equipped with mosquito netting. But outside it can be annoying. There is a fantastic terrace where many pleasant hours were spent with a lovely view. However, the mosquitoes may well be present there. Presumably that is in periods and maybe we had some bad luck in that area. Do not let this spoil the fun! This house is highly recommended to spend your holiday -) It is well taken care of by the owners.

The house in Convalle is an authentic Italian house in an almost medieval village. The accommodation itself is simple and the decor somewhat dated, but fully equipped (including dishwasher, washing machine). You can taste the real Italian atmosphere here. Very friendly Italian owners, who by the way speak only very limited English. But with Google translate and hands & feet you come a long way. The house has a beautiful view over the mountains and the surroundings with beautiful nature exudes tranquility. The disadvantage is that there are no further facilities at the house itself (eg no swimming pool, no lawn for the kids to kick a ball) and the village is quite remote. So for literally everything you need the car. Driving times: a supermarket (15 minutes), a beautiful swimming pool (in Bagni di Lucca, 30 minutes), the beach (an hour) and the nearest place Lucca (25 minutes). That also explains the very pleasant pricing for this house. We alternated swimming pool, stand and city trips with each other, sometimes with a lazy day in Convalle itself. Despite the disadvantage of the distances, we (family with 3 teenagers aged 12-14-16) had a very nice holiday.
