Holiday home for disabled persons in Schalkenmehren

We had a fantastic stay in Hünningen, a quiet little village in "Ostbelgien". We stayed in a little, very cozy house, neat and nicely decorated - the 2 of us and the dog felt right at home, also because of the separate garden with view to a pasture. At night it is very quiet so you sleep well but also because of the excellent (electronically adjustable) bed and duvet. The kitchen is well equipped with quality items and there is a map with a lot of options for walks & restaurants etc in the area. The spa area (very nice & new sauna and hot tub) was the icing on the cake, you do have to pay for it separately and in full for the whole stay. The owner is a very friendly and cooperative, helpful lady who speaks several languages, she lives next door but this doesn"t feel annoying. And of course the area is stunning, even in February with shaky weather. We will certainly go back there again. This was one of the best houses we have been in.

Erg fijne en rustige plek om je vakantie door te brengen. Winkels op 10 min met de auto. Wandelingen in de omgeving of vanuit huis zijn ook mogelijk. De accommodatie was erg goed. Een heerlijke douche in de ruime badkamer. Het is wel redelijk donker doordat er slechts één raam in de woonkamer zit. Gelukkig is er voldoende verlichting aanwezig. Het telefoonbereik was bij ons niet sterk, dus de wifi essentieel. Helaas niet supersnel, maar wel toereikend voor Netflix of Youtube. Verwarming werkt ook verder goed voor in de wintermaanden. Wel zelf je bedlinnen meenemen 180x200.

Complete and clean house in a very nice environment. Thank you for the jar of sweets and the bottle of wine on arrival! The TV in the bedroom visible in the photos is no longer there (but we did not find that problematic). Furthermore, in our opinion, this house gets plus points for the presence of a washing machine, although this is not mentioned in the facilities. A disadvantage is that the house is difficult to ventilate due to the small number of windows, so in warm weather it quickly becomes stuffy inside.
