Resort Reestervallei

Resort Reestervallei is located by the ancient peat river De Reest, just like the name suggests. It's only 2 km from the village of IJhorst and on the other side you'll find the border between Overijssel and Drenthe at the same distance. Both provinces can therefore easily be explored from the so-called "Kop van Overijssel".

Resort Reestervallei offers a number of facilities for both young and old. There's a reception, a modest outdoor swimming pool with paddling pool and a restaurant. Here you can of course have a bite to eat, but you can also get a cup of coffee with a treat. There's also a petting zoo, mini golf, a playground and a tennis court. Everything is there, but not big or large-scale, making sure that you can always enjoy your well-deserved break in peace. At only 3 km from the resort you'll find playing pond De Zwarte Dennen, located in the Staphorst forest. Here you'll find a nice sandy beach, lawns and a playground for the children. Because the water deepens only gradually, it's an ideal place for (smaller) children. During high season you can get drinks and snacks at the kiosk.

There's more than enough to do in the area. A few tips for nice (day) trips are: the nice city of Zwolle with its diverse offer in shops, boutiques and nice restaurants and outdoor cafes (22 km). National Park Weeribben-Wieden, the largest contiguous peat swamp of Northwestern Europe, is also certainty worth visiting. Giethoorn, also called the Dutch Venice, with a trip on the water (17 km). The Staphorst Experience Path, near recreational lake De Zwarte Dennen, is also recommended. Here you'll meet everything that has to do with the forest in a different way. A noise hut, a colour room and a maze; all of this is less than 4 km away from the resort. For dolmen enthusiasts Havelte is certainty worth a visit (16 km). Amusement park Slagharen is worth a day trip (17 km). Staphorst is about 8 km away. For golf enthusiasts there's Pitch and Putt Koekange, a beautiful 18-hole golf course that fits perfectly in the landscape. From the resort you can also visit the province of Drenthe and even the Veluwe can be easily reached.
