Village Vacances De Chantonnay

Just outside Chantonnay you'll find vacation park Villages Vacances de Chantonnay, at 3.5 km from the town centre. Surrounded by all the wonderful sites of the Vendée, Village Vacances de Chantonnay offers all the ingredients for a great vacation. The cozy park, formerly known as Le Champ du Loup, has been renovated and is extremely well maintained.

The kids will enjoy themselves in the (fenced) swimming pool with childrens pool. You too by the way, on the adjacent sun terrace with sunbeds. You walk to the bar for fresh bread in the morning. Here you can also buy an ice cream and even a meal. In the bar you can enjoy a snack or a drink. The reception area has a TV and wifi. You can use the shared stone barbecues and washing machines.

Village Vacances de Chantonnay is a paradise for children. They can romp around, play football and badminton, visit the play area or games room, everything is possible. For older children there is a free volleyball court and tennis court. In July and August, the animation team organizes activities such as excursions, hiking, sports tournaments and disco nights. There is a lake at just 500m, where fishing is allowed. There are frequent organised fishing tournaments. Bicycle hire, mini golf, weekly market, post office, daily groceries and bakery can all be found in Chantonnay. There are some nice restaurants within 600m.

As a lover of French culture and nature you can't fail to notice that Village Vacances de Chantonnay is very favourably located in the heart of the Vendée. There are many highlights in the area. The swamps of Poitou are an experience to remember. If you want to experience something of the feel of Venice, then you can enjoy the special atmosphere in Luçon, also known as Green Venice (32km). Other towns that are not to be missed include Ste. Hermine (17km), La Roche-sur-Yon (34km), Fontenay-le-Comte (41km), Cholet (51km), Parthenay (65km) and Clisson with its castle, historic city center and beautiful houses (55km).

L'Aiguillon-sur-Mer (50km) is recommended for a day at the beach. If you're on the coast anyway, then why not take the coastal road west towards the resort of Les Sables d'Olonne with its promenade, cafes, shops and large port (75km). It's also marvelous to take a dip in the lake Lac de la Tricherie in Mesnard-la-Barotière (25km). Here you can rent a boat, surfboard, pedalo or canoe.

You'll do the children a big favor with a visit to the attraction Parc de Pierre Brune in Mervent (30km). Afterwards you could visit the zoo in the same town. Family park Puy du Fou (30 km) is highly recommended for the whole family with its spectacular shows. An 18-hole golf course can be found in Nesmy (35km).
