The various ski resorts of Zillertal Arena
With an altitude of 580 metres and centrally located in the Zillertal, Zell am Ziller is the gateway to the Zillertal Arena skiing area. This family-friendly paradise offers not only slopes and ski and snowboarding schools, but also a children’s snow park on Rosenalm, a 7 km-long natural bobsled run, a 14 km-long cross-country track, a recreational park with an ice rink, indoor tennis courts, bowling lanes and curling facilities. Both young and old will enjoy a wild ride on the Arena Coaster, the first Alpine roller coaster, a 1450 m-long toboggan run on rails! Instead of spending a day on skis, you can also go on a ‘snow walk’ through a beautiful winter wonderland or people-watch from an outdoor café! Enjoy all the fun of a winter sports holiday from a chalet in or around Zell! Gerlos offers a totally different experience. This lively town is located at an altitude of 1300 metres and is popular with partygoers, thanks to the fantastic après-ski scene. Discos, ski bars, pubs, restaurants – you’ll find plenty to choose from. The ski slopes are also guaranteed to be snow-covered, but are considered by some to be a little monotonous compared to other resort areas in Zillertal Arena. There are also cross-country tracks here and the possibility to try paragliding. Gerlos also has a special 'snow park', the ARENA HOT ZONE, which is a true paradise for snowboarders and freestyle skiers!
The highest ski resort is Königsleiten, at an altitude of 1600 metres. Here you can even ski right to your front door. Belvilla also rents out holiday homes in the quiet and picturesque village of Wald as well as the cosy town of Königsleiten, where a beautiful, challenging and expansive skiing area awaits you! Here you can enjoy cross-country tracks, winter hikes, toboggan runs, curling, torch-lit tours, horse-sleigh rides, ice climbing and an indoor swimming pool and wellness centre. Close to Wald, at an altitude of 1076 metres, is the charming and picturesque village of Krimml, famous for the Krimmler waterfalls. Torch-lit tours and horse-sleigh rides to the waterfalls depart from Krimml. You can also go on breathtaking and romantic winter walks, go cross-country skiing, and naturally enjoy downhill skiing and snowboarding at the nearby Hochkrimml-Gerlosplatte resort. There is also a children’s ski school and skiing area with a practice lift, 'magic carpet’, carousel and variety of play options in Krimml. The pleasant and small-scale family-friendly skiing area of Gerlossstein, just north of the village of Hainzenberg, is also part of the Zillertal Arena area. Those with a valid ski pass can take advantage of a free ski bus service between Neukirchen, Wald, Krimml and Königsleiten. The Zillertal Arena ski pass and Zillertaler super ski pass can also be used in the Wildkogel Ski Arena in Neukirchen on the mountain of Großvenediger, where you have even more skiing options.
